Nyanga National Park is situated in one of the most scenic areas of Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands.
Accommodation and facilities
Strategically positioned around dams, the three camps have some of the finest self-catering accommodation facilities in the Eastern Highlands.
Rhodes Camp
Named after Cecil John Rhodes, the camp is located not far from the former's house now Rhodes Nyanga Hotel, which ZimParks is leasing out, on the other side of Rhodes Dam.
It’s about 2km drive from the highway placing it within walkable distance for those who opt to use public transport to access this self-catering facility.
It has eight cottages all furnished with everything you need and nothing you do not need.
Each cottage has a small kitchen with all the trappings of a modern kitchen from a sink, fitted cupboards and drawers, to a stove and oven, an electric jug, and a fridge.
The open plan lodges are equipped with a small dining table and chairs and handmade craft lounge suits facing a fireplace. These however vary between those meant for couples and those meant for families.
The bedrooms have beautiful lighting and comfortable beds, fitted wardrobes and a full-length mirror.
Bathrooms vary with each cottage. Some have tubs and stand-alone showers and others just showers.
All cottages face the dam offering great views, cool fresh breezes and plenty of picnic spots.
The adventurous may even consider canoeing in the dam which according to the Rhodes Act prohibits any motorised boats in respect of the environment
